Global Performance of Sustainable Thermal Insulating Systems with Cork for Building Facades

Rehabilitation of facades may be carried out with the application External Thermal Insulation Systems (ETICS). Their main contribution is increase energy efficiency buildings. In literature, hygrothermal, impact and fire performance studies have been on several systems different insulation materials, such as expanded polystyrene, mineral wool extruded polystyrene foam insulation. Due to growing concern environment, are being developed more sustainable ecological ICB (expanded cork). These type boards responsible for a negative in global warming potential, significantly improving environmental benefits their use. As these were recently introduced market, applications site very recent behaviour over time still unknown. this research, durability (with ICB) analysed through an experimental campaign compared EPS polystyrene) systems. The results show that obtained satisfactory comparable stood acoustic performance.
